Doula Desirée O'Clair has studied the field of birth for two decades. Both her grandmother and her great-grandmother were midwives, so she is naturally called to serve women in birth. Having completed her training through DONA International, Doulas of North America, Desirée enjoys attending women at home births as well as in the hospital setting. Desirée is a mother, a childbirth educator, an ICAN Chapter Leader, and a breastfeeding counselor.
"When Desirée arrived at the hospital I immediately felt like I was in a circle of calm and safety. My husband and Desirée were the circle, and I was able to block out everything else and just breathe with Desirée. I felt so secure, and that made it so much easier to give birth." Michelle, mother of Mary Rose
"Desirée was wonderfully prepared, extremely supportive, and made my job much easier. I would welcome her presence at any future births." Katherine Wightman, MD.
"Desirée was an amazingly intuitive and loving doula and her presence at my daughter's birth was a true blessing." Laurie, mother of Rita
